ASTM FORMULA FOR CALCULATING THE FILAMENT WOUND TANK SIDE WALL THICKNESS
Thickness in inches at dimension E
D       =   Diameter in inches
H       =   Head height in inches (Based on dimension E)
SG       =   Specific Gravity of liquid (pounds/cubic foot)
1500 PSI (1/10 the value of the allowable hoop tensile strength)

This ASTM formula includes a 10:1 safety factor.

Please note that a correctly designed tank does not include the corrosion
barrier thickness in the calculation of the wall thickness.
